The musical perspective of object and puppet animation

Theatre of puppets has the capacity of objectivisation and at same time animation of objects, figures, body, light, space or sound. This capability of changing sources of expression, makes it the most flexible artform, which can change from concert to performance, from visual installation to puppet show, from animator to actor. Any object can be animated and put in a context with the support of simple rules of rhythm and musicality. That is why I avoid using the word “puppetry” (even, if it is very sympathetic to me) but rather “theater of illusive points”, which opens understanding of theater as an illusion, defined by focus of the spectator. This is just the beginning of the musical perspective of puppetry, which can be implemented into almost every creative process, from puppet theater to dance. It is an authorial philosophy, research, based on experiences of performing in contrasting social situations all over the world.

Workshop will be led in the form of training of different techniques, which derive from rhythm, impulses and composition as well as developing situations on music principles. Next part will be orchestration of elements in groups and on other hand individual work on characters. In the third part we will try to build a production, which will be connected with your aim - that can differ from political perspective, to use of material or research of other contextual topics. Maybe there will also be no production, but only a jam session, we will see.
